We’re glad you asked! Nearly all Gold Coast films are preview screenings, meaning they have not yet been released to the general public. So you’ll be among the first in our area to see great new films. Our screenings are also always followed by a conversation with a notable guest, such as a filmmaker, actor, expert in a film’s subject, or film industry professional.
In general, doors open around 6:45pm for series subscribers and 7:00pm for general ticketholders.
All ticketholders are guaranteed a seat in the theater, however all seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. The best thing you can do it get to the theater as close to the time the doors open to secure a seat to your own liking. Your ticket holds a seat to a screening until the film begins playing. To be fair to the rest of the audience who arrive on time, no seats will be saved once a film begins.
Subscriptions may be purchased prior to the start of each series. Series dates and scheduled films are listed on our website, and you can sign up for our e-mail list to be the first to get series announcements. Subscriptions can be purchased online or by calling 516-829-2570. Prices are:
$75 Regular Subscription
$65 Senior Subscription (ages 65+)
Pro-rated subscriptions may be purchased after the first film screening (subject to availability) for the remaining films in the series, however in no other cases will a partial subscription be available.
Subscribers save on individual films and may be invited to bonus films and special presentations. Plus, subscribers receive priority seating before 7:00pm and movie night deals and discounts at local restaurants.
When you subscribe, you will receive a subscriber card at the first screening in the series, which grants you easy entry into each film in your subscription and can be shown at local restaurants for discounts (participating restaurants are listed on the back of the card).
Our programmers are constantly looking for great films and are working hard to bring them to our audience. Sometimes they are not able to confirm all films before the start of a series, but if you do subscribe, we promise you’ll see something excellent!
If you are unable to attend a film, your subscriber card may be transferred to another person. In addition, you may “swap” one film per series, i.e. if you subscribe to the Furman Film Series in Great Neck and are unable to attend a screening, you may attend a screening at the Elliman Film Series in Port Washington instead. NOTE: Swaps MUST be arranged in advance with Series Coordinator by calling 516-829-2570.
Ticket prices are:
$15 – adults and seniors, purchased in advance
$10 – students (with a valid student ID), purchased in advance
$20 – ALL tickets purchased at the door
NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be issued for tickets you purchase and do not use.
As long as we’re not sold out, tickets may be purchased at the door. PLEASE NOTE that tickets are $20 when purchased at the door, versus $15 ($10 for students) when purchased in advance.
If you bought an individual ticket to the screening, you will not need a physical ticket – we will have your name on a guest list at the door. (We have subscriber’s names too in case you lost or forgot your card.)
If a screening is listed as sold out, you can call us at 516-829-2570 to add your name to the waitlist, and in the event that more tickets become available, we will call you. Additionally, RUSH tickets may be available at the theater. If any seats are available at the time the movie starts, they will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. All tickets sold at the door are $20.
The BEST way to make sure you don’t get shut out of a screening? Buy your tickets early! And join our email list to be the first to find out about film screenings.
Yes, group rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Call 516-829-2570 for more information.
We make every effort to hold our screenings in handicapped-accessible theaters, however please call us before the screening to be sure, or if you require accommodations such as reserved handicapped seats. In addition, Assistive Listening Devices are often available at the theater – please contact Bow Tie Squire Cinemas in Great Neck or Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington to find out availability.
